Waimanalo Beach, voted the #1 beach in the U.S. in 2015, is one of Hawaii’s most stunning destinations.
Its beautiful sand and ocean stretch for about 6 km (nearly 4 miles), making it the longest beach on Oahu!
The greatest appeal of Waimanalo Beach is its powdery white sand, emerald green waters, and uncrowded atmosphere, allowing you to relax peacefully.
You can also enjoy breathtaking views of the Koolau Mountain Range, with its cliffs rising dramatically from the sea.
Interestingly, Waimanalo is also famous as the hometown of former sumo grand champion Akebono.
Since it’s a relatively hidden gem with fewer crowds, it’s the perfect spot to visit when you want to enjoy a beautiful beach.
Safety and Parking at Waimanalo Beach

Waimanalo Beach has several large parking lots, and street parking is also available, so finding a spot is generally not a problem.
However, this area is known for having a significant homeless population and a high incidence of car break-ins.
It’s even sometimes called “Thief Beach” for this reason.
So if you visit by car, be sure to manage your belongings carefully and never leave valuables visible inside your vehicle.
Waimanalo Beach: A Popular Spot for Wedding Photos

Waimanalo Beach is one of Hawaii’s premier wedding photography locations.
The blue ocean and sky, combined with the white sandy beach, create a stunning backdrop for a wedding dress.
Every shot looks picturesque, making it a highly recommended spot for couples who want to capture their special moments together.
However, please note that commercial tour access is now prohibited, so you’ll need to visit privately.
