It is a very lovely beach, so it is recommended even for those who do not swim.
Kailua Beach Parking, Restroom, Changing Room, and Shower Information
Since Kailua Beach Park is a public park, it is fully equipped with parking lots, restrooms, and showers.
Also, there is a space like a changing room inside the restrooms where you can change clothes.
In fact, there are three parking lots, three showers, and three restrooms, so it feels much more well-equipped than other beaches.
Since it is also a luxury residential area, it is clean, has a very good atmosphere, and you can use the facilities with peace of mind.
However, it gets extremely crowded during the day on weekends and holidays, and there is a high probability that the parking lots will be full, so I recommend arriving in the morning if possible!
How to Get to Kailua Beach
Since this is a place that many people visit on their own from Kailua Town, I would like to explain in detail how to access Kailua Beach.
There are mainly four ways to get there: walking, bus, Uber, and bicycle.
It takes about 25 minutes one way on foot, about 10 minutes by electric bicycle, about 15 minutes by regular bicycle, and about 5 minutes by bus or Uber.
On Foot or by Bicycle
Go down Kailua Road, turn left at the intersection with Wanaao Road and head north, and you will run into Kailua Beach.
Kailua Beach is wide, so both the left and right sides of the dead end are Kailua Beach.
If you are swimming, I recommend the area slightly to the right of the dead end where the waves are calm.
For bodyboarding, it is the area slightly to the left, which forms a bay and easily creates waves.

Take bus route 671 from the bus stop in front of the Kailua Shopping Center, and you will arrive at the nearest bus stop (Kailua Beach Park) in about 5 minutes.
The area right in front of where you get off is the central area of Kailua Beach!
However, this route has infrequent service (about once every 30 to 40 minutes, and sometimes once an hour depending on the time of day), and because it uses small buses, it tends to get full quickly.
Since it is only about a 20 to 30-minute walk from Kailua Town, putting in a little effort to walk is also an option.

It is the easiest way; just enter “Kailua Beach” as your destination in the app!
It will automatically calculate the shortest route from where you are when you open the app, and it will also calculate the fare.
Once the vehicle arrives, you will get to Kailua Beach in about 5 minutes.
