Maui Mike’s is a specialty shop serving absolutely delicious roasted chicken in Hawaii.

Although it is not featured much in guidebooks, it is a highly recommended and delicious whole roasted chicken.

In Hawaii, “Huli Huli Chicken” is famous as a whole roasted chicken, but this Maui Mike’s is a specialty shop for “Fire-Roasted Chicken” that is so locally famous that everyone knows it!

The secret to their popularity is that they use naturally raised chickens that roam the land of Hawaii, healthily raised without any steroids, hormones, antibiotics, or additives.

Seasoned with their original blend and carefully fire-roasted over an open flame for two hours, the chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely fantastic!

The menu is very simple, consisting of only two categories: “Whole Roasted Chicken” and “Sandwiches.”

These two types of menus are further divided into three options each depending on flavor and size, making a total of six choices.

Whole Roasted Chicken Menu

The whole roasted chicken comes in three types, No. 1 to No. 3. (The photo shows No. 2)

No.1 Quarter Chicken: A quarter size of a chicken, and it is the most frequently ordered menu item among visitors. Even with this, the portion is plenty!
No.2 Half Chicken: A half size of a chicken, so if you want a hearty meal, you should go for this! It is the most popular menu item where you can fully enjoy the classic roasted chicken.
No.3 Shredded Breast: It comes with a heavy portion of chicken breast, making it recommended for two people with smaller appetites to share. However, if you prefer something juicy, the regular chicken might be better!

Sandwich Menu

The sandwiches come in three types, No. 4 to No. 6. (The photo shows No. 4)

No.4 Maui Wowie Melt Sandwich: A sandwich with chicken breast, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard, and this is my personal favorite menu item. It is an American-style, hearty skinless white meat chicken sandwich.
No.5 Bacon Melt Sandwich: A sandwich with chicken, cheddar cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce or ranch sauce, offering a hamburger-like taste with extra bacon toppings. The added juiciness to the chicken makes it great!
No.6 Mike’s Melt Sandwich: A sandwich with chicken, cheddar cheese, bacon, honey mustard, chili sauce, and ranch sauce, which is the most luxurious menu item at Maui Mike’s. Additionally, there is a great-value family pack for large groups, so it is a good deal if you have many people!

Choice of Side Menus and Sauces

All menu items come with a side menu.

There are a total of 8 types of side menus (Mike’s Fries, Cajun Fries (+$1), Sweet Potato Fries (+$1), White Rice, Baked Beans, Corn, Cole Slaw, and Green Beans), and you can choose one of your favorites.

The safe choice is Mike’s Fries, which are French fries.

There is also white rice, corn, coleslaw, and more, but fries are definitely the best match for chicken!

There are a total of 7 types of sauces to dip your chicken or side menus in (BBQ – Sweet, BBQ – Smokey, Lava Hot, Blazin Chilli, Honey Mustard, Teriyaki, and Ranch), and you can choose 1 to 2 types depending on the menu.

Both BBQ sauces feel classic and are safe choices.

Lava Hot is a hot sauce, but it is not incredibly spicy.

The chili sauce is also a standard mildly spicy sauce.

Honey Mustard is highly recommended as it offers a deliciously unique flavor that is a must-try.

The teriyaki sauce also has a consistent flavor, so you can’t go wrong with it.

The ranch sauce is an American salad dressing made by mixing mayonnaise and sour cream.
