Iolani Palace is the only existing royal palace in the United States.

It is a classic tourist attraction where you can see how the Hawaiian monarchy lived and view precious exhibits!

Not only is it a symbolic presence in Hawaii, but it is also designated as a National Historic Landmark of the United States.

The decorations inside the palace are all worth a look, exuding beauty and history.

There are plenty of highlights, such as the spacious Grand Hall, the Throne Room decorated with luxurious and majestic carpets and furnishings, and the State Dining Room used for official events and entertaining guests.

If you want to experience the history and culture of Hawaii, be sure to visit!

How to Purchase Tickets for Iolani Palace

Admission tickets must be reserved online in advance through the official website.

Please note that there are no same-day ticket sales at the on-site ticket window.

The entrance is at the office (Hale Koa) located on the left side when looking at Iolani Palace from the front.

Once your ticket is confirmed, you will be given a sticker to put on your chest.

After that, you will be guided when it is time for your admission or tour, so you will have free time until then.

If you have some time before admission, you can view the basement gallery first, so it is recommended to spend your time there.

Self-Led Audio Tour

This is a tour where you explore the facility while listening to recorded audio (available in multiple languages).

Actually, there are several special tours besides the two tours mentioned above.

All of them are special tours where a guide shows you the palace collections that are not usually open to the public, and the prices are more than double compared to regular tours. Haha.

In addition to being held infrequently, the contents and tour structure may change, so if you wish to take a special tour, be sure to check with Iolani Palace in advance!

Basically, it is recommended to participate in the audio tour or the docent-led tour.
