In the United States, it has about the same number of stores and members as Costco, making them true rivals!
The incredibly spacious store offers a wide variety of products, making it highly recommended not only for buying souvenirs but also for stocking up on food and drinks you need during your stay in Hawaii.
Sam’s Club Membership Prices
There are two types of Sam’s Club memberships: Club Membership ($60 per year) and Plus Membership ($120 per year).
Each membership allows you to issue two cards!
The benefits that Plus Members have over Club Members are:
- 2% cash back up to a maximum of $750
- Free shipping on online orders of $50 or more
- Free curbside pickup service at the store
- Various exclusive discounts
- Early access shopping before regular opening hours

If you do the math, anyone who spends more than $3,000 a year at Sam’s Club will get a better deal with the Plus Membership.
Unlike Costco, there are no restrictions on credit cards, so you can freely use any brand of card.
Sam’s Club One-Day Pass
Sam’s Club was known for a system called the One-Day Pass, which allowed you to shop even without registering as a member.
Although it had the disadvantage of being 10% more expensive than regular member prices, this system was very popular because it could be easily issued at the customer service center.
However, due to its unpopularity, this One-Day Pass has now been discontinued.
Instead, there are regular new membership campaigns that offer significant discounts on the first year’s annual fee, which can actually make the membership practically free.
Since the store has many products that may not be available in your home country, it is a good idea to become a member for just one year.
