All Waikiki Trolley Lines Explained

The Waikiki Trolley operates four lines: Pink, Green, Blue, and Red.
Each line offers a very different experience, so here are the recommended highlights for each.
Pink Line
The Pink Line loops between Waikiki and Ala Moana Center.
Departing from the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, it serves shopping spots and major hotels in central Waikiki and runs to Ala Moana Center.
In fact, the Pink Line is free for holders of a JCB card.
To ride for free, simply show your JCB card to the driver when boarding.
By the way, using a JCB card often brings various benefits in Hawaii, so it’s a handy item to have for your trip♪
Note: One direct trip from Waikiki Shopping Plaza to Ala Moana Center departs every morning at 9:45.
Green Line
The Green Line goes from Waikiki around Diamond Head.
Starting in front of the Hale Koa Hotel, it passes Waikiki Shopping Plaza and runs between central Waikiki and Diamond Head.
The biggest appeal of the Green Line is that the trolley takes you all the way to the base of Diamond Head.
Compared with taking TheBus, the trolley gets you much farther inside, which is a big physical advantage.
Note that separate advance reservations are required for climbing Diamond Head, so be sure to book if you plan to hike.
Note: On Saturdays only, the trolley also stops at the KCC Farmers’ Market stop.
Blue Line
The Blue Line runs along the east coast from Waikiki.
Departing from Waikiki Shopping Plaza, it serves east coast dining and shopping spots such as Leonard’s, known for malasadas, and Kahala Mall.
The Blue Line follows a scenic route with excellent views, making it a great choice for a sightseeing tour.
The high vantage point from the trolley offers continuous ocean views that are truly spectacular.
Along the way, the trolley stops at Halona Blowhole for about 10 minutes to allow time for photos.
Note: For the first departure only, you can board at the Ilikai Hotel at 8:20 and at the Karali Waikiki Beach Hotel at 8:25.
Red Line
The Red Line runs from Waikiki to Chinatown and downtown.
Departing from Waikiki Shopping Plaza, it visits historical sightseeing spots around downtown.
The Red Line’s advantage is easy access to downtown and sites that are harder to reach by other transport, including the Hawaii Izumo Taisha Shrine.
This route lets you enjoy Hawaii’s history and culture, including the Honolulu Museum of Art, Iolani Palace, and the King Kamehameha Statue.
These are spots you may want to linger at, so check the timetable carefully to avoid missing the trolley!
Note: For the first departure only, you can board at the Ilikai Hotel at 9:50 and at the Karali Waikiki Beach Hotel at 9:55.
