Tropical Farms is a Hawaiian macadamia nut shop operated by Kualoa Ranch.

Tropical Farms (officially Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Outlet) is the only store on Oahu attached to a macadamia nut processing factory.

In addition to macadamia nuts, one of Hawaii’s most popular souvenirs, you can also purchase a variety of other local products and souvenirs like macadamia nut coffee.

Original Hawaiian skincare products, fragrant soaps, and hand creams are also popular items.

You can sample various flavors of macadamia nuts and taste freshly brewed coffee, making it a great place to stop by for a quick visit!

Macadamia Nuts at Tropical Farms

The macadamia nuts come in a variety of flavors, each offering a unique taste.

Since you can actually taste them before buying, you can be sure to purchase only the ones you like, so there’s no going wrong.

When you visit, don’t hesitate to try every single flavor.

  • Honey Roasted
  • Kona Coffee
  • Cinnamon
  • Salted
  • Unsalted
  • Maui Onion & Garlic
  • Caramel

There are seven flavors in total, and the top three most popular are Salted, Honey Roasted, and Maui Onion & Garlic.

Keep this in mind if you’re having trouble choosing a souvenir!

Crack Your Own Macadamia Nuts at Tropical Farms

While the inside of the shop is filled with souvenirs, stepping outside feels like you’ve entered a tropical rainforest!

You can see many trees and enjoy the great outdoors, including macadamia nut and coffee trees.

While you’re there, we highly recommend trying to crack your own macadamia nuts.

There’s a large wooden box filled with macadamia nuts, and you can crack them open for free.

It’s a unique, primitive experience cracking the hard shells by placing a nut on a base and hitting it with a rock.

Breathtaking Views from Tropical Farms

One thing you must see when visiting Tropical Farms is the stunning view of the Koolau Mountains.

The scenery of towering, steep cliffs is a true symbol of Oahu and one of the places where you can most feel the essence of Hawaii.

There’s also a retro tour bus that goes around the grounds, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular views, visit the pond used as a filming location for LOST and ER, experience Polynesian culture, watch a fire dance show, and even try cracking coconuts.

While shopping and dining are great, spending special moments in Hawaii’s vast nature is truly wonderful!
