Three Tables is a hidden gem on the North Shore, boasting crystal-clear waters and an abundance of fish.

As its name suggests, Three Tables gets its name from the three table-like rock formations located about 20 meters (about 65 feet) from the shore.

It’s a fantastic, lesser-known beach where you can relax on the sand or swim with the fish around the rock formations!

Some of the fish you can see at Three Tables include various species of wrasse, unicornfish, ornate butterflyfish, and the state fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa (reef triggerfish).

Thanks to its unique underwater topography, the water is exceptionally clear, and the beach is uncrowded, making it a perfect spot for snorkeling.

Three Tables Boasts Exceptional Water Clarity

This beach is highly recommended not only for snorkeling but also for anyone who wants to spend a relaxing day by the sea.

On the North Shore, you’ll find that even adjacent beaches can have completely different atmospheres due to their varying topographies.

The beach at Three Tables is composed of fine, beautiful coral rather than sand. It features a lovely shallow area near the shore and a clear, rocky area further out.

This means you can enjoy the beach according to your preferences: the shallows are perfect for families with children who want to relax and play, while the offshore area is ideal for those who want to see lots of fish.

The area just before the “tables” isn’t too deep, though you might not be able to stand, and it gets significantly deeper on the other side of them.

It is dangerous to get in the water during the winter months (around October to March) when the waves are high. The best time to visit is during the summer season, from mid-May to mid-September.
