Surf n’ Sea is an immensely popular surf shop on the North Shore of Hawaii.

Known for its “SURFER X-ING” (Surfer Crossing) logo, this popular shop is an icon of Haleiwa Town!

Opened in 1965, it’s the oldest surf shop in Hawaii and one of the largest, a favorite among pro surfers.

In addition to gear for playing in the ocean like surfboards and swimwear, they also have a great selection of souvenirs such as stickers and T-shirts.

As the most popular surf shop in the heart of surfing country, it’s a must-see when you’re visiting Haleiwa!

Popular Souvenirs at Surf n’ Sea

Surf n’ Sea has a wide variety of popular souvenirs.

Among the original merchandise featuring their logo of a girl crossing the road with a surfboard, items like mugs, keychains, and T-shirts are especially popular!

The most popular item of all is a collaboration T-shirt with the surf brand “Hurley.” It features the Hurley logo and the word “Haleiwa” on the chest, with a print of the Hawaiian Islands and the Surf n’ Sea logo on the back.

By the way, you can find these T-shirts in the back right corner as you enter the store.

Since it’s a surf shop, they also have collaboration items with various other surf brands, all with great designs, so you’re sure to find something you’ll love!

They also have Japanese-speaking staff, so don’t hesitate to ask if you need any help.

Photo Spots at Surf n’ Sea

In Haleiwa, a town of surfers and artists, you’ll find various murals painted on the walls of buildings.

On the right-side wall of the building, there’s a mural of the reggae legend, Bob Marley.

Surf n’ Sea is located right at the entrance to the town, so this impressive artwork also serves as a landmark.

On the left side, you’ll find the logo of world champion surfer John John Florence.

This one is a bit more hidden, so it might be harder to spot.

The Surf n’ Sea building itself and its cute yellow sign are also very photogenic, giving you plenty of photo opportunities all in one spot!

Be sure to also check out the nearby angel wings, mermaid, and Haleiwa bridge murals.

Activities at Surf n’ Sea

Surf n’ Sea also offers surfboard, SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard), and kayak rentals.

Right next to the shop is a large river called the Anahulu River, and exploring it is a popular activity!

While surfing might be challenging for beginners, SUP and kayaking are fine even for first-timers!

We recommend trying SUP. The boards are larger, more buoyant, and more stable than regular surfboards, making them easy and safe for beginners to enjoy.

A little-known secret is that if you head up the Anahulu River, you can see lots of sea turtles!

You can rent SUPs and kayaks by the hour, so it’s a perfect activity to try if you have a little extra time in Haleiwa Town.
