Pele’s Chair is one of Hawaii’s most scenic and powerful spiritual spots.

It is said to be the place where the fire goddess Pele sat and admired the view after creating the island of Oahu.

This mystical spot is very popular not only for its breathtaking views but also for the immense positive energy you can feel here.

While Hawaii has many famous power spots, Pele’s Chair is known for its strong, all-encompassing energy, and is especially reputed to be excellent for financial and career fortunes.

However, since Pele is said to be a jealous goddess, it’s best to avoid making wishes related to romance.

The trail is about a 20-minute walk one-way from the parking lot. It’s a hidden gem with a fantastic atmosphere and fewer crowds, allowing you to fully enjoy the classic Hawaiian scenery.

How to Get to Pele’s Chair

Near the entrance to the trail, the path splits into two. The paved road that goes straight uphill leads to the Makapuu Point Lighthouse Trail, which goes to the other side of the mountain. The unpaved gravel path on the right that goes downhill leads to Pele’s Chair.

Most people take the paved path up to the Makapuu Lighthouse, so be careful not to follow the crowd and go the wrong way!

Also, the trail can get very muddy when it rains, so it’s recommended to wear sneakers or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Along the way, the path may split a few times, but as long as you head in the direction where you can see Pele’s Chair, any of the routes will get you there.

The path is mostly flat, with only a final ascent at the end, making it a relatively easy spot to reach.

By the way, there is also a secluded secret beach below Pele’s Chair with almost no people.

It might be nice to relax on the beach after working up a sweat on the trail.
