Patagonia is a popular outdoor brand, well-known for its fleeces and jackets.

While Patagonia sells many of the same items globally, you’ll find that the prices in the U.S. are often much lower!

Even at regular prices, items are typically 30-50% cheaper than what you might find back home. During sales, you can get an additional 30-60% off, meaning some items can be as low as a quarter of the price♪

Furthermore, they carry products exclusive to Hawaii that aren’t sold in other countries, making the stores a popular spot for tourists.

Since tourists are a key customer base, they sell winter clothing year-round, not just items for Hawaii’s warm climate!

Patagonia’s Most Popular Item: The Hawaii-Exclusive Pataloha T-Shirt

At Patagonia in Hawaii, you can find the “Pataloha” T-shirt, a Hawaii-exclusive item whose name is a blend of “Patagonia” and “Aloha.”

It’s not just the exclusivity that makes it popular; its simple and stylish design appeals to people of all ages and genders.

By the way, while you can find the Pataloha logo on various items like tote bags and pants, only the T-shirts are exclusive to Hawaii!

Also, Hawaii has two stores, one in Haleiwa and one in Honolulu. The T-shirts are printed with “Haleiwa” or “Honolulu” below the design, so each store offers its own unique version.

These Pataloha T-shirts sell out almost as soon as they’re stocked, so they are often in short supply.

There might be some stock in the back, so if you don’t see your size on the floor, be sure to ask a staff member!

The staff at Patagonia in Hawaii are very helpful, and you’ll often find multilingual employees, including some who speak Japanese♪

Features of the Patagonia Stores

The Patagonia stores in Honolulu and Haleiwa each have their own unique characteristics.

First, the Honolulu store is best known for its “wide selection of products.”

After relocating in 2021, the store became about three times larger than its previous location.

With a vast inventory, you have a high chance of finding the items you’re looking for!

On the other hand, the Haleiwa store’s main appeal is the “exclusivity of its merchandise.”

Haleiwa is a world-famous surfing spot, which gives the name a cool vibe.

To give you an idea, “Honolulu” might evoke the image of a bustling city waterfront, while “Haleiwa” brings to mind a laid-back surf town, popular with artists and surfers.

It really comes down to personal preference, so visit the store that best fits your style!

Patagonia Has Two Major Sales a Year

Patagonia’s sale seasons are twice a year, typically in February and August.

However, the timing isn’t fixed and can vary by about a week each year, so sometimes the sale might start in late January.

We recommend signing up for the Patagonia newsletter, as they’ll send you information shortly before the sale begins!

Unfortunately, they generally don’t hold sales for Black Friday or during the holiday season (from early December to around Christmas).

But even at regular prices, it’s a great deal compared to what you’d pay in many other countries. So, if you happen to visit during a sale on your trip to Hawaii, consider it a lucky bonus.

Also, the Hawaii-exclusive Pataloha items rarely go on sale, so you can buy them anytime!
