Maui Mike’s is a fantastic fire-roasted chicken specialty shop in Hawaii.
It might not be in many guidebooks, but I highly recommend their delicious roasted chicken.
In Hawaii, roasted chicken, often called “Huli Huli chicken,” is a classic local comfort food. And when it comes to roasted chicken, Maui Mike’s is a name every local knows!
The secret to their popularity is their commitment to using all-natural, free-range chickens raised in Hawaii. They are raised healthily without any steroids, hormones, antibiotics, or additives.
Seasoned with their original blend and slow-roasted over an open flame for two hours, the chicken comes out with perfectly crispy skin and incredibly juicy meat. It’s simply the best!

Maui Mike’s Menu
The menu is very simple, offering just two main categories: “Fire-Roasted Chicken” and “Sandwiches.”
Each of these two categories is further divided into three options based on seasoning and size, giving you a total of six choices.
Fire-Roasted Chicken Menu
The roasted chicken comes in three options, No. 1 to No. 3. (Pictured is No. 2).
- No. 1 Quarter Chicken: A quarter-sized chicken, this is a popular choice for a single person. Even so, it’s a very generous portion!
- No. 2 Half Chicken: A half-sized chicken, perfect for those with a hearty appetite! This is their most popular item, allowing you to fully enjoy their classic roasted chicken.
- No. 3 Shredded Breast: A hearty portion of shredded chicken breast, great for two people with smaller appetites to share. However, if you prefer juicier meat, one of the other chicken options might be better!
Sandwich Menu
The sandwiches come in three options, No. 4 to No. 6. (Pictured is No. 4).
- No. 4 Maui Wowie Melt Sandwich: This sandwich features chicken breast, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard. It’s my personal favorite. A classic American-style sandwich with a generous amount of skinless, white meat chicken.
- No. 5 Bacon Melt Sandwich: This one has chicken, cheddar cheese, and bacon, with your choice of BBQ or ranch sauce. It tastes a bit like a burger with the added bacon, which gives the chicken extra juiciness!
- No. 6 Mike’s Melt Sandwich: Featuring chicken, cheddar cheese, bacon, honey mustard, chili sauce, and ranch, this is Maui Mike’s most loaded sandwich. They also offer value-priced family packs, which are a great deal for larger groups!
Choice of Sides and Sauces
All meals come with a side dish.
There are eight side dishes to choose from: Mike’s Fries, Cajun Fries (+$1), Sweet Potato Fries (+$1), White Rice, Baked Beans, Corn, Cole Slaw, and Green Beans. You get to pick one.
A safe bet is Mike’s Fries, which are standard French fries.
While they also offer white rice, corn, and cole slaw, nothing pairs with chicken quite like fries, right?
You can also choose sauces for your chicken and sides. There are seven options in total: BBQ – Sweet, BBQ – Smokey, Lava Hot, Blazin’ Chili, Honey Mustard, Teriyaki, and Ranch. Depending on your meal, you can pick one or two.
Both BBQ sauces are classic and safe choices.
Lava Hot is a hot sauce, but it’s not overwhelmingly spicy.
The chili sauce is a typical, mildly spicy sauce.
Honey Mustard is a fantastic choice and highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for something a little different.
The Teriyaki sauce is another reliable option you can’t go wrong with.
Ranch is a popular American salad dressing made with a blend of mayonnaise and sour cream.
That covers the entire menu. Be sure to try a few different combinations!
