Bellows Beach is a secret spot in Hawaii, open only on weekends and holidays.

The reason it’s closed on weekdays is that the Waimanalo area here is located within a U.S. military base!

Oahu has many lesser-known hidden gems, but the exclusivity of a place you can only visit for a limited time makes it especially appealing.

Since people can only enter during these limited times, the sand is pristine, the water is crystal clear, and it has the atmosphere of a private beach.

The contrast between the white sand, the green sea, and the cobalt blue sky creates a truly breathtaking view, making it a highly recommended beach!

Features of Bellows Beach

Bellows Beach is located right next to Waimanalo Beach, which was once named the #1 beach in the U.S.

While both are beautiful beaches, I personally prefer Bellows.

It’s so uncrowded that it was the first place on Oahu where a sea turtle came to lay its eggs!

Even on weekends, it’s not overly crowded with tourists, and there are lifeguards on duty, so you can swim with peace of mind!

On windy days, the waves can get a bit high in this area, making it an excellent beach for bodyboarding.

Be careful not to venture too far, as you might wander into the military-only area. Always pay attention to signs and warnings!
