The Angel Wings is one of Hawaii’s most famous murals (wall art).
This piece of art helped kickstart the trend of Instagram-worthy spots and is painted on the entrance of an ice cream shop near the bridge in Haleiwa Town!
It’s the most popular mural in Haleiwa Town, a picturesque artist’s town where every corner is a photo opportunity.
It’s a casual tourist spot where anyone, young or old, can simply enjoy taking photos.
If you find yourself visiting Haleiwa, make sure to stop by and check it out!
How to Take the Best Photos with the Angel Wings

I’ve noticed that sometimes people struggle to get a great shot with these Angel Wings.
So, I’m going to share some special tips on how to take amazing photos. Feel free to copy these poses!
Pose Like an Instagrammer for a Cool Shot
- Don’t press your back against the wall; just lean your hips against it.
- Clasp your hands behind your back.
- Cross your feet in front of you.
- Look diagonally downwards.
- Let your sunglasses hang a little off your nose.
How to Take Cute Photos of Kids
- If they’re too short for the wings, have them stand two or three steps in front of the wall.
- Have them raise both hands up and out at a 45-degree angle, as if cheering.
- Keep their feet as they are.
- Have them look straight up.
For a Natural, Effortlessly Good Photo
- Stand straight along the wall.
- Make a shaka (the aloha pose) with both hands.
- Rest one foot against the wall.
- Look at the camera and smile.
Taking Photos of Your Pet
- There’s a chair-shaped rock in front of the wall; have your pet sit on it.
- Step back and use the zoom to align your pet with the height of the wings.
